Introducing a pilot project: DogWould Pay It Forward Program
Send DogWould to work with dogs in shelter or foster!
Send DogWould to work with dogs in shelter or foster!
Presenting an opt-in program for owners of dogs adopted from participating shelters and rescue agencies in Saskatoon.
By enrolling in any DogWould group class, you can help provide training and public exposure for shelter and foster dogs in need of permanent homes.
The DogWould Pay It Forward Program works on a points system:
1. Enroll your dog adopted from a participating agency in a DogWould group class (7 weeks),
2. Perfect attendance during a course of classes earns 2 points,
3. On the last day of your group class, you can pay forward your points to the agency your dog came from, and send DogWould to work with a dog in need!
Points can be redeemed by participating agencies as Loose Leash Walking Enrichment sessions: 3 points earns one 30 minute LLWE session, one-on-one for the dog only.
Agencies can apply the points toward training for dogs that are currently in foster or shelter. Agencies email DogWould to schedule sessions.
DogWould provides equipment and food rewards for the sessions. If a dog has specific allergies or health problems, the respective agency will supply food rewards for training.
This is a one year pilot project: show your support and the program may be expanded!
